October 23, 2019. Presentation of the services and tools of the AGROgestor platform to the INIA Iberoamerica network.
During the past 21, 22 and 23 October 2019, the XVIII Meeting of the INIA System of Latin America was held in Pamplona (Navarra), focused on the issues of Big Data and digitization of the agricultural sector.
During the technical visit to the Orvaláiz Cooperative in Torres de Elorz, Ana Pilar Armesto of INTIA, presented the AGROgestor platform and the functionalities offered for collective crop management collective advice for the agricultural sector, as well as the tools being developed in within the framework of the INTERREG-POCTEFA program, the PyrenEOS project that has developed a Decision Support Tool (DST) to monitor alerts related to the vegetative development of crops at plot scale. This monitoring service is based on time series of vegetation indexes (VI) derived from Sentinel-2 images.
This alert service for the monitoring of agricultural crops, based on the images of the Sentinel-2 satellite, has been integrated into the Lifeagrogestor Platform to assist the farmer in fertilizing and monitoring their crops.
During the conference about 380 visitors from 37 countries attended, 84 posters were presented and 124 oral presentations were made.
In addition to the representatives of the INIA of Spain, 12 INIA presidents of Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela) attended; 6 Spanish Autonomous Communities (Navarra, Canary Islands, Galicia, Andalusia, Basque Country and Catalonia) and 6 International Organizations (FONTAGRO, IICA, Global Research Alliance and 3 Centers of the CGIAR innovation network in agriculture).
