May 31, 2019. IRTA Mas Badia networking with the LIFE AGRICLOSE project

On May 31, 2019 at the headquarters of IRTA Mas Badia there was a meeting between the participants of the LIFE AGROgestor project and LIFE AGRICLOSE. The objective of the meeting was to share issues of shared interest in the field of improvement in fertilization management. Some of the specific objectives of the AGRICLOSE project that are of interest to AGROGESTOR are the following:

-Close the nutrient cycle using the potential of circular economy.

-Increase the efficiency of nutrient use through the use of the liquid fraction of slurries (LF) and digested manure (D) in the fertirrigation and cover fertilization in fruit trees and cereals.

-To develop and implement a composting system of SF pig slurry within the animal farm.

-Improve soil and environmental quality by integrating the proposed fertilization into conservation cropping systems, using precision farming techniques.

-Demonstrate that the use of LF and D has no negative influence on the sanity of final agricultural products.

-Transfer the practices and methods to the involved actors so that they can integrate them in their habitual management.

It is agreed to maintain contact for future technical meetings of interest within the framework of the two LIFE projects.

The project LIFE 17 AGRICLOSE ENV / ES / 000439 “Improvement and disclosure of efficient techniques for manure management towards circular and sustainable agriculture”

The LIFE AGRICLOSE project will test and demonstrate a set of measures with the potential to improve the links between pig farms and the manure or digested manure they generate, and the fruit and crop farms (high yield fruit trees and field crops) in the same region. The project will involve farmers, consumers and certification bodies in testing the agronomic and sanitary viability of the measures. More information
