June 18, 2020. Pyrenees Services on AGROasesor platform
June 18, 2020.– On June 11, the public company INTIA presented to forty professionals, in an on-line conference organized by the coordinating entities of the PyrenEOS project, the two services that it has developed during this project and that have been integrated on the AGROasesor platform.
INTIA has made available to non-specialized users two tools based on the images offered by the SENTINEL 2 satellite, to support the monitoring of their crops and to manage, more efficiently, the contribution of fertilizers or irrigation, among other uses.
The first of the services offers the possibility of classifying agricultural plots based on various vegetation indices, such as the NDVI, in order to detect situations of different vegetative development, by comparison between plots or by selection of a reference value established as critical for a crop.
In the second case, an intra-parcel classification tool based on satellite images has been developed. It can be used to conduct soil or plant sampling and to evaluate different crop responses to nutrients or soil characteristics. This tool allows the classification map to be exported for incorporation into variable application machinery.
The development of these tools integrated into the AGROasesor platform, allows for example variable fertilizer application decisions, in combination with the nutrient balance tool also available on the platform. This achieves more efficient fertilization and the consequent economic and environmental benefit.
This innovative platform in constant development, together with the INTIA team of personalized technical advice constitute a tandem of great value for professionals in Navarre agriculture.
To access a demo of the platform, it is necessary to enter Google Chrome on this web page and identify yourself with the user: PyrenEOS and the password: demo1.
Interreg Poctefa PyrenEOS Project
On June 16, the completion day of the European project Interreg Poctefa ‘PyrenEOS – technology at the service of the territories’ was held, which has been developed for four years and in which INTIA has participated along with five other partner entities: Government of Navarra, General Council of the Atlantic Pyrenees, Tracasa, Telespazio and UPNA.
The Interreg Poctefa PyrenEOS project has been 65% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg V-A Spain-France-Andorra Program (Poctefa 2014-2020). The objective of the Poctefa is to reinforce the economic and social integration of the Spain-France-Andorra border area. Its help focuses on the development of cross-border economic, social and environmental activities through joint strategies in favor of sustainable territorial development.
These research projects in which INTIA participates are developed within the framework of the Agreement between the Department of Rural Development and the Environment and INTIA, S.A. for the promotion of R + D + i in the agricultural field.
AGROasesor platform
The AGROasesor platform is the result of the collaboration of public entities from 5 Autonomous Communities, Navarra, Andalusia, Catalonia, the Basque Country and Castilla La Mancha, in addition to AEMET and Prodevelop, within the framework of two LIFE projects, coordinated by INTIA.
It is in continuous evolution since 2011, as a result of the interest in addressing new digital advisory systems in crop management.
The AGROasesor platform allows each farmer to manage the information on the actions he performs on his farm, and digitally incorporate it into each of his agricultural plots. Very powerful decision support tools have been developed within the platform, in irrigation and fertilization, which carry out daily balances of the needs of nutrients and water in each plot.
Progress on this platform is also the result of collaboration with users. In the PyrenEOS Project, INTIA has been able to evaluate the tools created in the farmers’ plots of the Orvalaiz Cooperative, in addition to having the invaluable collaboration of Juan Ignacio Labiano. Together we keep moving forward!
