July 8, 2019. Presentation of communication at the 12th European Conference on Precision Agriculture (ECPA) in Montpellier, France.

The past July 8 and 9 we attended the 12th European Conference on Precision Agriculture (ECPA) in Montpellier, France, focused on precision agriculture applied to small farms.

During the conference Ana Pilar Armesto and Marta Goñi of INTIA, they presented the communication with the title “A tool for colletive mangement of crop growth warnings based on Sentinel-2 vegetation indices”, in the section of Decision Support for Precision Agriculture.

This tool is being developed within the framework of the INTERREG-POCTEFA program, the PyrenEOS project that has developed a Decision Support Tool (DST) for monitoring warnings related to the vegetative development of crops at plot scale. This monitoring service is based on time series of vegetation indexes (VI) derived from Sentinel-2 images.

This alert service for the monitoring of agricultural crops, based on the images of the Sentinel-2 satellite, has been integrated into the Lifeagrogestor Platform to assist the farmer in fertilizing and monitoring their crops.

During the conference about 380 visitors from 37 countries attended, 84 posters were presented and 124 oral presentations were made.
