Course on the sigAGROasesor web platform. Farmer Training.
Ana Pilar Armesto and Amaia Marruedo of the public society INTIA, today begin one of the two days of training on the sigAGROasesor platform, which will take place on February 4 and 5, 2019. These training days are aimed at farmers of the Orvalaiz cooperative.
The first day of training consists of a basic course that is carried out for 11 farmers who start this year to manage the sigAGROasesor platform. In the day will be assigned the user keys to access the platform, and start with the basic management course of the sigAGROasesor platform. Finally, they will also learn about the new features of the LIFE platform AGROgestor platform, such as the monitoring tools based on remote sensing data.
On the second day, an advanced management course of the sigAGROasesor platform will be taught for 10 other farmers who already manage the platform. They will receive training on the new functionalities of the AGROgestor platform: Monitoring tools based on remote sensing data and tool the fertilization tool.
It is foreseen that the AGROgestor platform will be operational by the end of this year 2019, so it is essential that, in advance, users are trained in all the features offered by sigAGROasesor.
The Orvaláiz cooperative is one of the members of the Pilot Program in areas vulnerable to nitrates in Navarra, located in Sector I of the Navarra-Valdizarbe Canal, which includes a Collective Management Area of 1,152 ha, of which 90% is part of the Vulnerable Zone of the Rio Robo. 40% of the surface is dedicated to corn and soft wheat.
The LIFE AGROgestor platform will be validated in 3 pilot environmental collective management programs chosen to respond to each of the environmental problems that are the object of the project: water scarcity, nitrate pollution, and the problem of organic fertilizers. One of them has already been carried out during the past year 2018 and the other two will be developed during 2019 and 2020.
